On October 26th, 2014, incumbent King County Chair Karl de Jong announced he would not seek another term.

The following individuals subsequently announced their candidacies for chair:

• Rich Erwin, current 41st LD vice chair (Facebook page)
• Omaha Sternberg, current 33rd LD chair (Facebook page)
• Betsy Walker, current King County Young Democratic Chair (Facebook page)

The reorganization meeting was held December 6th, 2014 at the IAM Hall in South Park, Seattle at 8:30 AM. Rich Erwin was elected Chair.
